The University of Toronto Certificate Program in Teaching English as a Second Language was first offered in 1972 and is one of the finest TESOL programs in Canada.

Praise for the program has been enthusiastic and consistent. The program provides a theoretical and practical base in linguistics, language acquisition and pedagogy designed to prepare graduates to be effective instructors of English as a Second language to adult learners, either in Canada or abroad. We are still accepting applications for the Summer Session start of the TESOL program. Classes begin in May. Please apply online as soon as possible.
