ROSI/SWS Instructions

Use of the SWS to enrol in courses means that you agree to abide by all the academic and non-academic rules and regulations of the University and college in which you are registered and assume the obligation to pay academic and incidental fees according to the policies and requirements of the University of Toronto. The SWS is at www.rosi.utoronto.ca.

Normal Hours of Operation

  • Monday: 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 12:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
  • Friday: 12:15 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Weekends: Saturday 12:00 a.m. through Sunday 11:45 p.m.

Hours may change from time to time for scheduled maintenance or technical reasons. For up-to-date information on SWS availability, check "Hours of Operation" on the SWS.

First-time Users: Logging In

When you access the SWS for the first time, you must login using your student number and your PIN (Personal Identification Number). Your initial six-digit PIN is your year, month and day of birth in YYMMDD format (e.g., April 23, 1980 = 800423). As soon as you have logged in using your birth date PIN, you will be prompted to select a new PIN. You have to select a new PIN only once. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire that helps you reset your PIN in case you forget it (see PIN reactivation).

Main Menu

After you have successfully logged in to the SWS, select "main menu." The available options are:

Course Enrolment

  • manage your courses
  • add, modify or delete a course
  • ist your courses (includes approved, interim, refused, and waitlisted courses); you can also drop courses from the list
  • manage waiting lists (including viewing rank on a waiting list)

View timetable/Spaces

  • enter up to three courses and ROSI will show timetable information and space available;
  • if courses are full, you can display lectures with waiting lists; the display includes the number of students already on the waiting list
  • links to "manage your courses"

Convocation Tickets

  • On-line requesting of convocation tickets

Personal Timetable

  • view personal timetable
  • view/print your personal timetable

Elections

Transcripts, Academic History

  • view/print your academic history
  • request transcripts
  • view your transcript requests

Graduation

  • confirm a request to graduate (not available after December 6; after this date, changes must be done at your college registrar's office)
  • cancel a request to graduate

Financial Accounts

  • view your fees account

Tax Forms

  • view and print your T2202A form for tax purposes

Personal Information

  • view and maintain your personal information: address, phone number(s), email, contact information, direct deposit information

Activity Log

  • view a log of your most recent successful ROSI transactions

View Start Time

  • view the start time that you have been assigned for course enrolment on the first day for fall-winter session

Logout

  • Once you have logged in, the session will remain active until YOU log out or the system finds it inactive. The SWS allows one minute between asking for information and receiving it. If it is not received, it assumes you wish to terminate the session. If you begin a transaction and hesitate for one minute or more while you are looking up information, you will get a message indicating you have been timed out.

PIN reactivation

You no longer need to go into your College Registrar's office to reset your PIN if you forget - just set yourself up for PIN reactivation. When you log onto ROSI, you'll be prompted to set it up. You will be presented with a list of questions; of these, you must answer three. Choose questions and answers you are not likely to forget.

If, after setting up for PIN reactivation, your access to the SWS is suspended or you forget your PIN, you can select the "PIN Reactivation" button from the login page of the SWS. Upon successfully answering two randomly selected questions (of the three you answered during the setup process), you can reset your own PIN and log back in to the SWS.

Quick Facts

  • You no longer need to go into your Woodsworth College Registrar's office to reset your PIN if you forget - just set yourself up for PIN reactivation.
  • You can view and print your T2202A form for tax purposes on the SWS!
  • Make sure to confirm your request to graduate on the SWS! Deadline is August12 for November 2013 Graduation and December 6 for June 2014 Graduation!
